Howard Goldring

Howard Goldring founded Delmore in 1994. He was previously director for Global Strategy at Allied Dunbar Asset Management when assets under management exceeded £10bn.

Prior to that, Howard was Allied Dunbar 's lead UK equity director, managing a UK equity pension fund valued at over £2 billion and heading a team of UK fund managers which won the Sunday Times UK Unit Trust Group award, in 1991 after ranking second in 1990.

Howard was retained as a consultant for global strategy by Allied Dunbar for three years after he left to set up Delmore. He later served as a non-executive director of Liverpool Victoria Asset Management Limited for six years, specifically providing asset allocation advice.

Howard's global investment ideas are broadcast via CNBC's 'Squawk Box' investment programme. He is an expert on the property sector and is a non executive director of London & Associated Properties Plc which manages a retail property portfolio of over £250 million.

Peter Stanyer

Peter Stanyer is economist and strategist at Delmore Asset Management. With Howard Goldring, he leads the new family office advisory service of Delmore Strategic Advisers. 

 

Peter also serves on the investment committees of two large pension funds (chairing one of them) and of a college endowment. He began his career as a professional economist and for the past 20 years he has been advising individuals and institutions from around the world on investment strategy and investment risk management.  He has worked closely with Delmore Asset Management since 2003.   He is the author of “Guide to Investment Strategy, how to understand markets, risks, rewards and behaviour”, one of The Economist magazine’s book series, published by Profile Books and by Bloomberg Press in the US.  A second edition was published in November 2009.

Peter’s previous positions have been as a Managing Director at Merrill Lynch’s Global Private Client division in London; head of the portfolio risk and client advisory service for Merrill’s European fund management business (and before that for Mercury Asset Management); Chief Investment Officer of Overture Investments, a Philadelphia-based investment adviser; and Investment Director of the UK’s Railways Pension Fund. He has also worked as an economist for the Bank of England and the IMF.

 

Peter is a member of the Securities Institute and of the Society of Business Economists, and when at Cambridge University, he won the Adam Smith prize for economics.

John Pullar-Strecker

John Pullar-Strecker began his fund management career in 1988 at Provident Mutual. Since then he has managed a range of institutional and retail accounts, concentrating on European equities and technology stocks. He currently manages portfolios with high alpha mandates.

Charlie Goldring

Charlie Goldring is a Business Studies, Accounting and Finance graduate and has an accountancy background specialising in smaller companies. Charlie joined the firm in 2002 and is an investment equity analyst.

Thomas de Prey

Thomas de Prey graduated with BA Hons in Politics from Leeds University. He then studied at The College of Law before qualifying as a solicitor in 2009. He has experience of on-shore and off-shore trusts, the formation and operation of SMEs and has worked with a number of major UK and US investment banks. He joined Delmore Asset Management Ltd in February 2010 and is a junior analyst.

Hilary Spivey

Hilary Spivey is a Chartered Accountant with extensive senior management experience in the financial sector. She has acted as Company Secretary for up to seven investment trusts where she worked with a team launching new investment trusts, raising capital through share issues and other corporate activities. She has also acted as Finance and Administration Director, Operations Director and Compliance Officer for a number of investment management companies.

She currently acts as Company Secretary for Delmore Asset Management Ltd and provides compliance advice on a consultancy basis.

Hilary is Secretary of the Association of Professional Compliance Consultants and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Chartered Institute of Taxation.
